Where is Jschool?
Jschool is based in an inner city building close to key news sources including Parliament House, law courts and Brisbane City Council, as well as Australian Associated Press.
The building includes spacious teaching rooms, recreation areas, library and the latest internet-linked computers. It is handy to inner-city facilities including shops, cafes and an abundance of pubs!
Much teaching also takes place "in the field" — in newspaper offices, at courts, in Parliament House's Press Gallery, at the city council and at news conferences all over the city and beyond.
Internship training takes place at newspapers from Cairns to Hobart. We also have excursions to interesting non-metropolitan areas in Queensland and interstate so as to broaden students' knowledge of a wide range of issues, news environments and people.
